Calvin D. Lyons, M.D., F.A.C.S., F.A.S.C.R.S.
Dr. Lyons is a fellowship trained colon and rectal surgeon originally from Dallas, Texas. He attended Georgetown University where he lettered in varsity football and received a degree in biochemistry. He earned his medical degree from The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. He then completed his general surgery training at Houston Methodist Hospital. Following residency, he completed his colon and rectal surgery fellowship at Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas. He then pursued further specialty training finishing a minimally invasive colon and rectal surgery fellowship through The University of Texas Medical School at Houston.
Dr. Lyons specializes in the treatment of colon and rectal cancer as well as benign diseases such as diverticulitis, inflammatory bowel disease, and anorectal disorders. He has a special interest in minimally invasive surgical techniques including single incision laparoscopy (SILS), robotic surgery, as well as transanal minimally invasive surgery (TAMIS). He is board certified in both General Surgery and Colon and Rectal Surgery.
In his free time Dr. Lyons enjoys exercising, travelling, and spending time with his wife and kids.
